Arthur's Stone
Arthur's Stone, is a burial chamber dating to the Neolithic Period, between approximately 3700 to 2700 BC. The Neolithic Period, or, the New Stone Age was the period of time during which people had begun to live in small communities farming the land, but had not yet discovered the use of metals. Tombs like this were then used to bury the dead from such communities and many spanned the generations. For a number of years people have reported hearing a strange humming sound around this area, without apparent cause

In 2013 excavations at DorstoneHill  revealed a nearly 6,000-year-old set of burial mounds that were created from the ashes of an ancient longhall.  This was a significant find and said to even pre-date Stone Henge
